Movie Review: Fast And Furious 5

I have to say that I am not a fan of Vin Diesel, but these movies suit him.  Am a fan of The Hot Paul Walker and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.  Now either of them can pop my hood any time *grin*

I took the time to watch all the previous movies (although I'm still a little confused on Tokyo Drift) just so that I would know the back story.

I wasn't happy when the projector fritzed during the fight scene between The Rock & Vin Diesel so all sound was lost.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the movies and cant wait for the 6th in the series - coming out in 2013 I think.

Plot:  Dominic and his crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to switch lanes between a ruthless drug lord and a relentless federal agent.

Movie Review: Thor

Marvel comics is really churning out the movies at the moment.  We've had both Iron Man movies (which I've not seen), the X-Men movies and now Thor.

Chris Hemsworth plays arrogant well.  It's good to see him being successful after Home & Away.

Plot: The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.

Moore River

For Mother's Day this year we all headed up to Moore River for the day.  Luckily we got there early and got a good position before it got too crowded.

On the way there, my step dad decided he wanted to go see the lighthouse.  Only problem was it only had a sandy track.  Both cars got bogged.  It took 10 minutes for my step dad to get his car turned around (he has a Honda CRV which is all wheel drive) but my brother in law took nearly 30 minutes (he has a Hyundai Elantra).

He tried to floor it up to the top of the hill but got bogged even more when trying to turn around.  I stayed down the hill with the girls.  We were having a good old laugh because every time he accelerated, sand would spew out from the back tires and cover my step dad, mum and sister with sand.

It was a lovely day, if cloudy.  I got some good snaps on my camera and the girls had a blast.

Awesome Breakfast

It was a struggle to get up and going this morning but I knew I must because it was the fabulous Miss Dan's birthday breakfast at Miss Maude's.

After all the delicious food, I didn't feel like going to work.  Luckily it is only a 2 minute walk down the road.  I would have had to walk past it if I wanted to go home anyway.

Happy Birthday Dan!!

Movie Review: Scream 4

Gotta love an extra long weekend to go see the movies you've been dying to see.

Rhian and I caught up today to see this.  It's been years since I've seen these so I have been watching them all over the weekend.

Plot:  Ten years have passed, and Sidney Prescott, who has put herself back together thanks in part to her writing, is visited by the Ghostface Killer.

Movie Review: Red Riding Hood

There are a lot of similarities in the opening scenes of this movie and Twilight.  That's no surprise since it is the same director on this film.  Stunning scenery.
Plot:  Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure.

Movie Review: Just Go With It

Another movie for Dan and I.

I am only just getting into Adam Sandler.  I'm not a huge fan of some of his earlier stuff when he seems to be screaming all the time.  Jennifer Aniston is getting better with age.  The kids are annoying, but overall a good movie.

Plot:  On a weekend trip to Hawaii, a plastic surgeon convinces his loyal assistant to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife in order to cover up a careless lie he told to his much-younger girlfriend.

Movie Review: Rio

I had a couple of passes I needed to use up before the end of this monther so I dragged my friend, the fabulous Miss Danielle out to Carousel.

We had dinner at Fast Eddy's which really should be called Slow Eddy's. We never received our bottle of water nor were we given any serviettes.

The movie itself was funny but got a bit annoying when something happened to the sound right at the important bit in the middle which took them 15 minutes to fix up.

Plot: When Blu, a domesticated macaw from small-town Minnesota, meets the fiercely independent Jewel, he takes off on an adventure to Rio de Janeiro with this bird of his dreams.

Joondalup Festival

Dan and I decided to hit the Joondalup Festival today.

We got there just after they had set up so there weren't too many people around the stalls.  Neither of us fancied buying anything so we headed to my place and are hanging out watching movies all night.

2 Little Birthdays

Had 2 of my nieces birthdays this week - Naiomh & Calleigh.

Sunday was Naiomh's birthday which was a birthday breakfast (she's only 3).

Calleigh's was on Wednesday so we had dinner at the folk's place.

Happy Birthday girls!!
